✨ A memorable evening of celebration, generosity, and community! ✨

The Amityville Rotary Club’s Annual Gift of Life Gala, held on June 4th, was a tremendous success, bringing together friends, supporters, and community leaders for a wonderful night filled with fellowship, excitement, and plenty of lucky raffle winners!

We were proud to honor three exceptional individuals whose dedication has made a lasting impact:

🏆 Local Hero Award – Patricia Shea, Founder and Director of Momma’s House
🏆 Service Above Self Award – Charlie Camilleri
🏆 Frank B. Powell Rotarian Award – John Henry

A heartfelt thank you to all of our generous attendees, Journal Ad sponsors, raffle basket donors, and the Gala Committee whose hard work and support made this event possible.

Most importantly, funds raised help support the Gift of Life Program, providing life-saving cardiac care to children around the world who would otherwise go without treatment. Together, we are giving children the chance to live healthy, productive lives.

❤️ Join us in making a difference. Learn more about the Gift of Life Program, support our efforts, and help us continue changing lives—one child, one heart, one family at a time

🌍🕊️ What an inspiring day at E.W. Miles Middle School as the Amityville Rotary Club proudly dedicated a new Peace Pole, a lasting symbol of hope, unity, and the universal message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”

The event brought together an incredible crowd of students, teachers, school administrators, and Rotarians to celebrate the importance of peace in our community. Highlights included a beautiful performance by the EWMMS Orchestra Ensemble, heartfelt poetry readings by Student Council members, and a meaningful Peace Stone presentation from participants in the Leaders of Tomorrow program.

The celebration doesn’t end here! Students will receive paper strips to share their own hopes and reflections for peace. Through another wonderful Rotary-Kiwanis collaboration, the EWMMS Kiwanis Builders Club will transform these messages into a Peace Chain that will be proudly displayed in the school lobby as a daily reminder of the power of kindness, understanding, and unity.

Together, we are planting the seeds of peace for future generations. We invite everyone to be a Peace Builder—share kindness, show understanding, lend a helping hand, and help spread peace throughout our schools, neighborhoods, and beyond. Every act of compassion makes a difference. 💙💛

What an incredible morning celebrating excellence at Amityville Rotary! 🌟👏

Congratulations to our Student of the Month, Cristian Chicas — Valedictorian of the Class of 2026 with an extraordinary 105 average! 🎓 Cristian will be attending NYIT to pursue Biochemistry on a pharmaceutical path, and we have no doubt he is destined to make a tremendous impact in the world.

🌍🕊️ A beautiful day in Amityville as fellow Rotarians joined with three Village officials for our Peace Pole Dedication at Linda Batz Park on May 18th.

Peace Poles are hand-crafted monuments displaying the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages — a worldwide symbol of hope, unity, and goodwill that began in Japan in 1975. Today, more than 200,000 Peace Poles stand in over 180 countries as reminders to pray for, visualize, and promote peace.

The Rotary Club of Amityville is proud to have placed Peace Poles throughout our community including 9/11 Park, UNAYO, Amityville High School, and now Linda Batz Park — creating meaningful gathering places that inspire peace for generations to come. 💙

If you would like to make a difference, build friendships, and help create positive change in our community and beyond, we invite you to join Rotary and be part of something meaningful.

Great things happen when service organizations come together! đź’Ş

Members of the Amityville Rotary Club and Amityville Kiwanis teamed up for a successful partnership project—building a large, durable set of shelving for the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless right here in Amityville. This sturdy addition will help better organize essential supplies and support those in need in our community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made this project possible. Your dedication to service truly makes a difference!

The Amityville Rotary Club has been busy giving back in a meaningful way ❤️

April’s Service Project, was all about preparing  â€śMeal in a Bag” kits for St. Martin’s Food Pantry—each one packed with everything needed to make a hearty pot of chili… we even included a can opener! 🥫

From shopping, to sorting, to packaging, this project was truly a team effort. A special thank you to Stella, Donelle, and Virginia for helping bring it all together!

It’s small acts of kindness like these that help nourish our community—one meal at a time.

The Amityville Rotary Club is proud to support meaningful change across the globe! 🌍💙

We recently presented a $500 donation to H2Empower, helping advance their incredible mission:

“In Ethiopia, H2Empower builds classrooms, provides learning materials for students, trains educators, brings clean water to rural schools and communities, develops libraries, awards scholarships, and develops sustainability projects.”

Pictured is our Club President, Carolyn Dodd, alongside Executive Director, Helen Boxwill. Also included are inspiring before-and-after photos of a classroom now equipped with chairs, along with a sample of books that are helping to promote literacy and open doors for students.

It’s amazing to see how even a small contribution can help create brighter futures through education and access to resources. 📚✨
