It's Gift of Life Gala Time!
The Gift of Life program originated here on Long Island in 1975. Since then, over 46,000 children's little hearts have been healed through life-saving surgery.
Medical intervention is provided either here in the USA or by medical teams dispatched to countries in need. In addition, doctors in the homelands of the children in need are prepared to perform the surgeries.
This year's event will honor three members of our community: The Local Hero Award to the Amityville Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services; Service Above Self Award to Erin Bevilacqua; and the Frank B. Powell Rotarian of the Year to Jo Pettit.
